Hi

My long-term (8 years) boyfriend has just received his Canadian citizenship on account of his mother originating from BC and we are toying with the idea of working in BC for 6 months or so to see how we like it as a place to live.

Of course, my boyfriend is now free to work there but what do I have to do to apply for a working visa? (I've tried to find a straightforward answer in this forum but must have missed it). The impression I get is that I will need a job arranged, a specifically approved one at that, before arriving in BC - is this correct? Does the length of our relationship count for nothing unless we marry?

thanks in advance

pq
