We've always used Shoppers, and their standard background and had no issues with our UK passports.

I believe so, the same one they use for everything. Off the top of my head, I think there have been 3 adult and 2 child ones we've done now.

I recently went to Walmart to obtain required pictures. They had a jig set up for a number of various countries' passport photos and they had the light grey background that the UK requires

Our Walmart no alternate colours, shoppers only do Canadian. We stuck at the mo, no one does the cream or grey?

Can get correct size in white, but will it get sent back?

Guna try Blacks, as all places with right size have light up screens and the ones with normal backgrounds don't have the size, blahhhh !!!!

Superstore photo folks did our last one, standard UK size but white background. No problems with renewal. To be honest, with the total bollocks-up in the UK passport office at the moment, I'd be surprised if anybody there would be bothered to make a fuss and create more workload...

You are now a Canadian citizen what do you need a UK passport for
Oh I forgot you can visit one more country Brazil without the need for a visa.
Let me guess you are going back to the UK and want to use the UK passport line which may or may not be shorter. Wont you still have bags to collect

3 more than Canada + easier to get around Europe

You can go to more countries with a Swedish passport than an American one - Vox

I do prefer the colour of the UK passport though.

Lol

It's for my wife

I ain't bothered being a Canadian passport holder, so no backlog for me. She applied for "citizenship by decent" hoping to speed up her process. But didn't work for her and she still waiting. Now unfortunately she needs her passport renewing.

Anyhow

We got them done at Blacks, $24 with a grey background same as the image on the UK web page. I Don't like to overpay but no choice in this case. Loblaws was $10 for Canadian passport.

Took my own photo with my creamy yellow wall in the background and printed it myself on photo paper last year and it was processed no issues.

Less questions being asked when you present your passport maybe? how long you staying? do you have a return ticket? where are staying? how many times are you planning on going to the toilet during your stay? generally the questions I get asked when I enter the USA and Canada

I like the Australian passport more - it has kangaroos on it

Just a quick update that may be of interest to those applying for new UK passports

Sent for the wife's passport on June 26th, 2014

New shiny passport just arrived now, July 23rd, 2014, so less than a month to process as of this time.
