Hi All

maybe has been already been discuss it, but i can;t find the thread.
I had an interview for a job in BC, and the company decided to hire me.
This happen in March, been advice though that the time from sending the intial paperworks to actually receive the employment letter it may be quite long.
Is anyone have an idea of the time frame in this situation?
Eventually what should i do.

Thanks

T

Hi, and welcome to BE.

Do you mean the timeframe just to receive an offer letter for the job? Or are you talking about a visa process and if so, which visa i.e. LMIA/TWP or PNP etc?

Has the company applied for the LMIA if required? What type of job have you been hired for or is this another case of a company offering you a job and then expecting you to find a way to get a work permit?
More info required.

OK, so do you have the LMIA? If so, then you can get on a plane and get the TWP at the airport tomorrow if you want, there's no wait at all (assuming you're a UK citizen).

If you're not a UK citizen, or a citizen of another visa exempt country, then it will depend on the visa office you're applying via, as timescales vary depending on which one it is.

If you can give us more info about whether you've got the LMIA or not (just FYI, the law hasn't been amended several times, just once in fact over a year ago), and where you're from, we can help you further.

Good luck.
