BTW Steve, where's that tree on the island in Maligne Lake.

Every pic of ML I've ever seen has a dead tree on the island, near the main shore of the lake.

I've always wanted to chop it down.... looks like mother nature beat me to it!

I'm not sure where the tree went I'll look through all the rejects tomorrow and see if I can find it in any of them.

Just to be sure we are talking about Spirit Island, right?

Thanks Nessie! (and everyone else). Keep 'em coming!

I love the Okanagan region, here's a couple of shots of the lake from a different angle.

Malign lake? Here's some shots of Moraine Lake, down the road.

Or, should I say, down the Icefields Parkway!

There's thousands of kilometers of gravel and forestry roads round the Calgary area. That's why I put dual sport tyres on my Bonnie and raised the suspension.

It makes for a great ride in a truly outstanding area of natural beauty!
OK ok!! now I gotta set off for work in rush hour traffic!! thanks.

Thanks guys for all your gorgeous pics, especially loved all the snow ones & the Cranbrook pics! I can't wait to get out to Fernie, only 6 months and 23 days to go, the pics make the wait worthwhile!

Fernie is a great place. You're going to love it

A couple more for the road......

The view from our kitchen window, and Vancouvers Spanish Banks at sunset.

Rockies, proper mountains!

Great pics. Makes our Wicklow Mountains look like little hillocks

Bad news I'm afraid.

Looks like the tree is still there. Or is that another tree?
