Yes, but when you are the mother of said kid, you don't see it like this....I got stressed as my kid had a problem with his 'phonics' in KG...I was in bits. Now he's going to Grade 9 next year (High School...OMG ) and I realize that not much of what's gone before, has had much of a bearing on where he is academically now. Socially though, having parents who were generally in sync and supportive and a mother who tried her best to hide her anxiety about his efforts, I think did.

It comes with the territory...most parent worry, I think it's a default setting

If the pre-kindy thing worries you, there are private pre-school options available. Our youngest went to a Montessori for a year as we were busy working and she'd already started school in the UK system before we moved here.
