Can anyone tell me if, despite there being no reference to teaching in the Occupations List, whether overseas teachers in Canada are required or even recognised ? I am a fully qualified English Teacher based in England and I am interested in emigrating to Canada but can find no specific reference to teaching in Canada in any immigration information.
p.s
When I first posted this, I spelt emigrating wrong. Not a good start.
Thanks.
Kieran.

(1) Teaching's not on the list of jobs, so if you apply as such, you will be rejected
(2) Teaching in Canada is regulated by the provinces. Speaking only as someone who
knows teachers, at least in Ontario (other provinces will no doubt set their own
rules) you will need a "Certificate of Qualification"

You probably need to be certified somehow to teach in the public system, but I know
the private system will hire non-certified teachers. I do not have a teaching degree,
yet I teach math at a private high school in Toronto. I hope that helps.
