Thumbs up Snow in Cheltenham UK

Have just been for an Indian meal at Kings Balti in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and there was a bit of a blizzard going on outside!!!!!!!
BBC weather give minus 10 by midnight tonight!!
Cannot remember the last time it snowed in UK in November - then again have had to retype this twice as Kings Balti was unlicensed!

Hi lucyspoon - your mention of Cheltenham took me back a few years. I worked for Linotype and spent many a long day driving between Cheltenham and Altrincham, where I was based, and can't ever remember it snowing - snow - snow - phew its 6 inches deep here in Cornell and still at it with the temp at -11C, ho hum looking forward to digging the car out of the garage in the morning NOT !!

Do you not realise WHAT you are doing to us poor deprived Expats????
You went for an 'Indie' !!!!
Ok all you Calgarians I know there are a couple of passable Indian restaurants in the City...but not in my neck of the woods.
Its one of those memories ( a great night in the pub then onto 'The Passage to India' for a chicken madras and popadoms) that makes you wonder why you ever left 'Good Old Blighty
How's the drinking all day and all night going???
By the way I spent many a good Sat' night roaming around the pubs and clubs in Cheltenham. I'm originally from Berkeley, but did live for a while in Stroud.
Good luck with the snow.

Have wandered in from the Oz forum after I saw the subject of this topic - I live in Nailsworth and we had a bit of snow here too - enough to make inching to school up the 'W' very dicey. The Passage to India's still going strong - I never did like it though - never seemed to be worth the hour long wait between order and arrival of food - never known a restaurant serve you so slowly. Far better Balti in town now Anyway - chin-up with your snow and hello from the five valleys.

We had our first proper snow yesterday. The forecast was for 1-3cm so, obviously we got about 10. It took me close to an hour to clear the driveway. Just as I was finishing, I had a visit from the plough. I swear the bastard was grinning.

It would seem that a lot of people have forgotten how to drive. By lunchtime, the OPP had reported 125 accidents (one fatal) on the 416 and 417 alone. Heaven knows what the day's tally across the NCR was.

Another first for the year. I just went out to the garage and discovered that six cans of what had been Molson Dry are now Molson Ice.

There are two within 5 mins walk of our house, both much more than "passable" (And I've eaten Indian in Bradford, around Brick Lane, Southall, even in Madhur Jaffrey's restuarant in New York).

By far the best Indian meal I've ever had was at The Brilliant in Southall.

P.S. The people building the new house over tha back of us have just sold up in Bragg Creek, perhaps the lure of the Balti was too much

Dogging now there's a word your going have to explain as there is more than 1 meaning and one of them isn't for the closed minded.

So tangram goes dogging in the car. :scared:
