Shipping arrivals in Halifax a few questions
My container is due to arrives into Halifax in a few weeks. I have contacted the shipper but I am still waiting for a response.
I realise Halifax has two port container terminals do certain ships, containers etc go to a particular one?
I cleared customs in Toronto on landing and got a certificate after handing in my goods to follow form, what happens next at the port?
When my container arrives do I collect it straight away or is it stored for a period of time before I can collect it.
I have nowhere to live straight away so need to store the contents for a few months, (20 ft container nearly full), does anybody have any suggestions? I have seen PODS and plenty of storage centres, price wise and for ease which is suggested.
I appreciate any comments or help on the matter.

Re: Shipping arrivals in Halifax a few questions
Did you arrange for to door service?
Normally the container arrives in Halifax. Its then put on a train and sent to the nearest Intermodal terminal. The freight forwarder should then be contacting you and supplying you a copy of the shipping manifest. You then take this along with your B4 and goods to follow list to your local CBSA office. Once cleared then a transporter will deliver it to your home.
