Returning to Canada
Can anyone help a friend of mine?
In March 1997, she obtained her Canadian Permanent Residence visa and stayed in Canada for 8 months. She then married a UK citizen in the UK and decided to stay there. In 1999, she returned to Canada for a short holiday and surrendered her visa at the airport but still holds her permanent residence documents.
The question is, if she wanted to return to Canada and get her permanent residence visa again, what should she do? She will be doing this alone, with her child -- she and her husband have separated. Does she just apply as before as if this was the first time, or is there some other (possibly quicker) route?
