Recruitment in Canada
First post so please be gentle (though it looks friendly as seen from hiding in the shadows).
Myself and my wife are starting to put together a plan to immigrate to Canada. I can see that there is a slightly different culture and process when it comes to recruitment but are there any recruiters on the forum to shed light on the actual world of recruitment in Canada.
I'm an experienced recruiter and from research this is a skill in demand so helps with EE. From reading job boards it looks like a mix between 360 and 180 models with jobs across the country but mainly in Vancouver.
I've got plenty of questions including how best to find a job (once landed, fly-over before to meet face-to-face, etc.) and whether offers exist before PR is granted.
Vancouver is a city we're attracted to as I have family in Squamish/Whistler and we like the city as well as the great outdoors, just a shame of the rental prices having left London for Manchester 6 years ago!
Advice, pointers or people to message, much appreciated! I know recruiters have a mixed rep in the UK as well as being an overpopulated market but it would be good to hear how it is in Canada.

Is there no chance of an intracompany transfer? I know people who work in recruitment and have transferred to Canada and UAE.
In terms of recruitment, the wiki article has a wealth of knowledge:

I've tried networking through LinkedIn whilst I'm in the UK but haven't really got anywhere. Most jobs I see have a requirement to be able to legally work in Canada otherwise you need not apply. I'm planning on getting my visa and then applying for jobs whilst in the UK. If I get something then great, if not then I'll just head over to Canada without a job and look from there. I've been planning on emigrating to Canada for years and so I've been watching things for years. It seems these days the demand is still there for people, but it is nowhere near what it was.

Re: Recruitment in Canada
Thanks for the reply. I have seen the odd advert with legally able to work in Canada mentioned as well.
Is early days of planning so am thinking of giving LinkedIn approaching a try and then see how it goes once we land. Unfortunately have left the world of large agencies and working for a small specialist company nowadays.

A friend of mine was able to come over with Randstat on a work permit with little issue. Similarly I know another chap who was with Robert Half.
They tend to like British folks in recruitment because they are better than Canadians.
There is plenty of work in recruitment in Canada but I doubt a small agency would get you a work permit to specifically hire you when they get folks of the street at no cost.
Big firms or nothing if you need sponsorship.
