Default Question about Alberta and Driving.

Hey guys, so i came over to Calgary in 2012 and partly through 2013 i purchased a car and changed my licence over to an alberta licence and surrendered my English licence.

I tried to use my ID to get into a casino on friday and was told it was expired, i hadnt even checked the expiry date as i didnt think it would only last a year. This is my own fault.

I went onto the alberta registry site to renew and found that i can only drive in Alberta for a year?

Since then i have received an LMIA and i have just started my PR through EE.. this could take months as im sure you are all aware.

What do i do in the meantime? i need my car for work as i live 30 minutes away, obviously i cant renew and i cant use my international licence as they took it when i got my alberta one.

Help? :/

Could it be due to a work permit expiring?

Yes just go to a Service Alberta office with your work permit and ask to renew your driving licence.

Service Alberta: Driver's Licence
