Qualification conversion
Hi there was wondering if anyone can help me, I am trying to get my qualifications from England converted to the equivalent here in Canada and was wondering if anyone knew of a reliable site to use. I have City and Guilds and Btec qualifications. I have been on World Education Service and they are quite expensive but I am trying to get into the education system here as I am a qualified Education assistant. Any helpful hints most appreciated many thanks Nicola22.

Re: Qualification conversion
Based on my personal knowledge, the following is approximate levels & general guideline by level
-NVQ2 (GCSE) = Grade 12 High school (H/S) diploma (general level) that would get you into a 1st year community college program
-NVQ2/3 = depending on the vocational qualification. That you have a trade or vocational qualification & are trained/certified in that skill & practising it, such as a Hairdresser, a qualified/trained admin assistant, a skilled and qualified day-care child worker, horticulturalist, a mechanic, electrician, plumber or someone that fixes things etc
-NVQ3 = Grade 12/13 advanced level H/S diploma (for university entrance), or a two year Canadian college diploma (1500+hrs of classroom time)
-NVQ 4 = Three year (Full-Time) Canadian college diploma (2400 hrs approx of classroom time) or completion of 2-years of a University degree
-NVQ 5 = Honours degree - that may include Masters level, depending on the degree type

As I said 'from my knowledge' which could be way off & would glady have others provide their input & assessment to correct what I posted above. Always willing to learn

What I posted can depend on who is stating what (NQF/QCF/NVQ) the facts and/or the difference that is quoted between say a 'level' & and 'NVQ' by an academic institution, the work place or a professional association, which IMO can be as wide as two or three steps. National qualifications framework or NVQ....Academic or Vocational..... which are you, where do you fit?

Re: Qualification conversion
Has anyone used the world Education Service to have their qualifications evaluated here in Canada?
