QROPS - advisor in Ontario or Quebec?
Hi guys,
My husband and I have recently moved back to Canada from the UK and are now in the process of moving our private pension plans back to Canada. We understand the QROPS process and have gotten the paperwork from our pension companies, but despite the list given on the HMRC website we are having problems finding an adviser at the major banks who have done it. We want to go through RBC but they seem to not know the process
If you have successfully done this, can you recommend the advisor you used if they are in Ontario or Quebec? We are getting a bit desperate as they only give you 60 days to do it once the private pension company gives you the paper work.
Many thanks!
Kathleen

I would suggest talking to one of the Specialist QROPS companies within Ontario as it can be very hit and miss when dealing direct with the banks. Most employees within the bank branch will have very little if no knowledge of QROPS and most are handled by their head offices. A QROPS specialist will deal with the entire process for you and can answer any questions or queries that you may have throughout the whole entire process.
Some people prefer little to no help or advice with the paperwork and procedures so this does not become a problem dealing through a Banks Head office, however some people do like help and advice throughout the whole process and this is where a QROPS specialist will be beneficial................Much like using a mortgage specialist when shopping around for the best mortgage deals.
A popular company in Ontario is UK 2 Canada Pensions
