Default Nexus residency requirements?

Hi Everyone,

I read the relevant website but still a little confused, does the 3 years residency still apply and if so does time in Canada on a work permit count towards that requirement or is it time as PR?

Thanks

Mike

My interpretation is that as a PR you have to have 3 years residency as a PR unless you are one of the exempt categories for the 3 year residency.
NEXUS - Amendment to the Three-Year Residency Requirement – You may now qualify for NEXUS membership

When I got mine It was 3yrs PR required
The Work permit time didn't count

Although you still need to get a I94 and then take it to the Nexus office and it would last for 3mnths, after that you'd need to get another I94

But having the Nexus made getting the I94 a formality

but........ screw up using the Nexus and attempt to do anything outside of the rules and they promised me... if you got caught and they took the card away.... it would make boarder crossings so painful you'd think twice

I was glad I got mine
