Medication?

Medication?
I'm considering moving to Canada as there's better job prospects over there then over here!
However I've got a got a question concerning medicine i.e. prescription medication.
In Wales I get it free as I have Epilepsy and it's necessary that I get the medication frequently. However I can't find much information on health in Canada itself (aside from the fact that everyone is really healthy)
Does it have the same laws as America with insurance companies? I know there's no NHS or equivalent but I'm struggling to find out what Canada actually has concerning health :/

Re: Medication?
No.
We have socialized medicine here in Canada.
Prescriptions, however, are not covered (except for those on welfare, seniors, etc.). Here people have drug (and dental) plans through their work to cover prescription costs. How much is covered depends on the company and their plan. Some cover the entire cost, some cover all bu the dispensing fee (usually $2-$10), some cover a percentage. It all depends on the company.

However, unlike the NHS, healthcare is managed and administrated at a provincial level. You would be better advised looking up the health service for the province(s) you're considering a move to.

Better job prospects in which field?
Meds you pay for. Some people have benefits from work which will cover part or all. Different provinces have different schemes to support those on long term meds. You also pay for dental work.
There is an equivalent to the NHS, administered by each province the federal Goverment sets down the minimum requirements that each province or territory must provide.
