Look around CostCo without joining?

Look around CostCo without joining?
We will be taking an 'activate CoPR' trip over Easter this year. Part of that trip is to get a few things set up that we can and look at some houses etc.
I would also like to take my wife (she is the Brit) into the local Costco, just so she can see the sort of place it is, get an idea of what prices are, the selection available etc.
Would we be able to do that without actually joining (I know they check cards at the entrance - we have no intention of buying anything on this occasion) - seems a waste to join when we won't actually 'land as settlers' until the July / August??

Yes, they have some sort of "visitor pass" arrangement. Alternatively you could say that you're just going in to buy drugs; I believe their pharmacy license is contingent upon serving all comers. I would try the latter first as it'd avoid queuing at the service desk.

Aaaah - didn't know that! We will do that then. My wife loves to stock up on Advil and Tylenol cold and flu etc.

Indeed, it just gets you in the door and if they ask to see the script you're rumbled. Still, "I'm not a member, may I go to the pharmacy?" only takes a second and, if they say no, you can still get a day pass.

BTW, take the basic job at Costco such as the 'doorman greeter' in that you tube flick, you'd be surprised that Costco Canada pay above minimum wage + benefits, healthcare & dental plan +++

Buy a Costco gift card. Anyone can buy one (no need to be a Costco member), and anyone who has a Costco gift card can shop at Costco.

From the Costco Canada website T&C
* Non-member use
You do not have to be a Costco member to use a Costco Cash Card, but non-members must register for a one-day shopping pass at the Membership Counter to access the warehouse.
Non-members may only be issued a one-day pass twice per calendar year and the one-day pass may not be used as a replacement for a Costco membership.
Non-members may not carry a balance on the card. If they do not spend the full amount of the card, the balance will be refunded at the cash register. If the value of a non-member purchase exceeds the value of the cash card, the excess can only be paid by cash, debit or MasterCard.
Costco Cash Card features include:
No expiry date
Reloadable at any Costco warehouse location
Balance can be accessed on Costco.ca or by calling the toll-free number on the back of the card
Can be purchased in denominations from $50 to $1,000
Can be used at Costco Gas Stations
Costco Cash Cards purchased online are sent with zero balance. To activate, call the toll-free number included with your card(s).

Technically they should escort nonmembers to the pharmacy so if they do buy some hearing aid batteries or some pharmacist present but non prescription drugs such as paracetamol and codeine.
But seriously, you're going to waste vacation time in a Costco?

Check out there website, which lists prices of I think most stuff:
https://www.costco.ca/
If you can find a costco, near where you live that sells Petrol from what I gather, worth the money to join otherwise can be hit and miss.
The kirkland brand is good and if you like buying in BULK, then could work out for you. Buying large portions of meat and fish, getting home and dividing it into smaller portions.
One thing to note, you can a membership for the year and if you are not happy with it, get a full refund at the end of the year.
So it may be worth while just signing up for the year and see how it goes when you move a few months later.
Also if you think you may use it a look, the executive membership may work for as you get 2% back on purchases.
