Default Lighthouse living in Nova Scotia

Live off-grid in Nova Scotia – in pictures
A lighthouse so light it's tied down so as not to blow away.

Looks a bit drafty in winter.

Seems a bit expensive too. Maybe the plan is to sell it to a rich person who won't check local prices out.

Lovely views though!

Bloody hell, can you just imagine it in February! I'd be hurling myself off all 51ft of it in an instant. Cold and desolate is one thing....but imagine cold and desolate with dodgy plumbing

About a year ago we were on the North Shore, a miraculous place, the sea is so warm that the lobsters boil themselves before floating ashore. You wouldn't want an un-insulated tower there, oh no, not without air conditioning.

I don't think there's anything wrong with arbitrage, if people in one market think something is worth a hundred grand on a good day and people elsewhere think it's worth $400,000 then good luck to the person who puts them together for a commission. At the same time, estate agents do not enjoy a reputation for scrupulous honesty in any market so you have to allow that someone hearing what an agent says is going to discount half of it.

All the same, he does churn out some old bollocks.

"watching a storm crash around you... sharing a glass of wine at sunset"

If one were to be in a garden shed, a shed barely held in place by cables, in a raging storm, water squirting in between the boards, the structure creaking and swaying, would one be sipping a Chablis and gazing into the eye's of one's beloved? I suspect not.

It was that phrase which jumped out at me too. And I don't think a Chablis but rather a robust tankard of Barrelling Tide Vodka.
