Note that insurers here are not much concerned with the model of a car (excluding real exotics or RHD) so you may as well have the high performance version of a car as the basic one. It's not like the UK where the model makes a huge difference to the premium.








Note also however that the base model of car will be outrageously expensive to insure so the fact that the V8 Turbo Twin-Cam version is "only" outrageously expensive + 3% is a mixed blessing.

Not always. Accidents usually follow the driver onto their policy if they have one or take one out. A standard question is if you have had any at fault accidents. If the driver does not have or tak eout a policy, the vehicle owner is stuck with it.

If there is a lawsuit for an accident and the driver and owner are separate, could well be both are named in the suit, so want to be absolutely sure anyone as a driver is covered and within the terms of the policy.
