Default Inexpensive B & Bs around Sidney, Millbay & Victoria BC

OH and myself coming for a flying recce to Victoria the first week in May on a job hunt and school search. We are staying with a friend for two nights but want to find a B&B around the Millbay and Sidney areas. Can anyone reccommend any?

Not being funny but motels, hotels, Inns might be cheaper than a B&B. I find B&B's to be fairly pricey when I look for accommodation.

It's true - in Canada B&B's are often expensive and considered miniature retreats of luxury. You'll find it cheaper to stay in a motel.

Thanks for your replies Piff poff and Lychee - that would explain why the ones I have found on the web seem so expensive Thanks for your suggestions I will take a look at inns and motels and see what I can find. If anyone can recommend a hotel, inn or motel around Sidney, Millbay and Victoria also Comox/Courtney please post on here.

Hi Mandeville, we have been here for 7 years and love living here. We are half way between Victoria and Nanaimo so easy to get to those if we need to. We live rurally, have great walks nearby and are 5 minutes from our local beach. I see you will be checking out schools on your reccie trip and the schools for this area are Discovery, Cobble Hill and Bench for elementary, George Bonner for middle school and Frances Kelsey for secondary and you can find info about them here http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/apps/imcl/...o?district=079 Hope this helps

that's really kind - thank you for the link and info. we are really looking foward to our weeks recce - we look at google earth and websites all the time but until you see places in the flesh you don't know if it is right for you or not. Our gut instinct (and luckily my OH and I so far have had all the same gut instincts ) is that Vancouver Island is right for us and our children. We are hoping to find work within an hour of Victoria (in the carpentry supervisor trades). We are lucky to have a contact in Victoria so are hoping to meet up with potential employers when we come over
Any info on the area is much appreciated as the more you learn the better prepared!
