Default English Bull Terrier

Hi, we are immigrating to Toronto early next year and want to bring our English Bull Terrier with us. EBT's aren't listed under the BSL and have a very different temperament to pit bull type dogs. Has any one else had a problem bringing in a EBT to Ontario?

I've seen many EBTs walking unmuzzled on the streets of Toronto, so it suggests to me they are not regarded in the same light as t'others. Never heard of ny ban on them.

I used to work for animal control in Ontario.
What you need to make sure you do is have paperwork that confirms what breed he is (from your vet).
You might still get people reporting you for owning a pit but as long as you have your paperwork you'll be fine.

Read up on DOLA that will give you a good insight in to Ontario provincial law.
The law states that if a dog has the physical appearance of a pit, so doesn't actually have to be a pit... then it can be seized. Which is why it is important you have his papers stating his breed.

What does he look like?
