I suspected a Novo sock puppet until 24 hrs ago, might still make a small bet given the right odds.

That's a shame. Mrs Angry was odd, but everyone else was hysterical. Loved this thread. Enough, in fact to use a little picture thing.

Those "little picture things" are called "emoticons" or "smilies". Well done

Not sure whether my kids would be proud or embarrassed. Actually scratch that. They default to embarrassed.

Don't you love when people criticise others for poor grammar, and yet make basic grammatical mistakes themselves?

Such as Forum with a capital F.

And let us not forget a personal favourite of mine, the you're/your confusion.

I had noticed the their/they're bit but decided against replying as the OP was likely to get more and more irate.

I think she was a sock puppet.. She could have been a long lost regular poster who flounced or took a long break and has now re-emerged.

Her 1000 year old grudge against the French was quite imaginative.

A poster controlled by another. It's a technique often used in debate or sales; a poster creates a bunch of other ids and uses them to endorse his or her idea or product or just to have a laugh.

I see.

I thought that multiple identities were banned on BE.

<I prefer the definition offered by bats, by the way>

It's an intriguing thought.

In an age when dirty old men pretend to be teenage girls on the internet, Novo creates an alter-ego of a demented, racist old Welsh lady.

Let's hope you didn't all pour scorn on a genuine grieving old lady.

I don't see what relevance that has tbh, whether she was a genuine grieving old lady or not, she was still (a) incredibly antagonistic and clearly spoiling for a fight; (b) a racist; and (c) a previous member that has a history of doing this.

Do one's circumstances make one's views unchallengeable?
