Comfortable wage to live on.
Hi
Sorry if this is a duplicate post.
So we have got an idea of places we would like to live in the GTA area and now we need to decide how much a good income is. We where thinking that in the $100,000 is this a decent amount for an annual wage. We would be renting to start with so $1800 per month we thought. Any thoughts on what is a comfortable wage for a family of 4? TIA

I would say you would be okay on that income paying 1,800 in rent assuming that rents realistic for a place large enough for 4 people.
We pay 1700/month in Vancouver on household income of 33,000 this year. Only 2 people and of course nothing to save or do anything like travel or movies or other fun stuff.

I’d have a good, and I mean a REALLY GOOD, look at what rentals are available in your chosen/prospective areas for a family of 4, at 1800$/month...
Also, are you talking 100k gross or net?

If it were Toronto, then rent for an apartment big enough for 4 will cost you more than $1800 - a house most likely double that.
Where are you getting the $1800 from?

$1800 a month seems very little for GTA when 2 bed apartments can cost that way out here
