Cheap courier services from Canada to Europe
Are there any companies like parcel2go where you get quotes from several couriers (and which are usually lower than going through the courier directly)?
Unfortunately parcel2go don't pick up in Canada and I'd like to send some things to Europe. Thank you.

probably not, they're all likely government monopolised like the Phone companies, Airlines and liquor stores ;-)

The lowest cost is Canada Post.

Plan ahead with Canada Post and you can send by surface mail. I think they quote 6 weeks delivery. The prices are much more reasonable that way.

I checked the prices today for sending a small <2kg to UK by Canada Post and nearly fainted IMO very expensive. So Saturday we're doing a trip over the border (fortunately just an hour away!) and will be using USPS 1/2 the price and by air so 6-10 days instead of 6 weeks. No contest really.

I assume you drive an F150 or similar? So the difference is lost is the gas, not counting the $6 for crossing the border into the Badlands. In addition, (I don't know about you) but most people earn more than the differential during a 2-3 hour round trip drive,

- No we don't drive a F150
- Yes we can afford the $6 crossing
- Yes could earn more than the differential during a 2-3 hour round trip but don't fancy working at the weekend
Will use USPS tomorrow as IMO Canada Post is taking the P*** with its charges and I posted because I believe others should know that there is an alternative if they live close to the border. If less people use the parcel services of Canada Post perhaps they'll reduce the prices. Slighty more constructive than your smug message me thinks!
FYI - We will also be doing our grocery shopping whilst we're there and taking our kids to meet up with their school friend from England who moved back to Michigan last summer.
