Car Insurance with UK Licence
Hello,
I lived in Alberta 2005-10 them moved back to the UK so had to hand in my AB licence and get back my UK one from the DVLA. I'm coming back to AB for 2-3 months next year and can borrow a car but will need to insure it. Is there any car insurance company that covers this kind of situation with my UK licence? The one I used when living there doesn't. Thank you.

Re: Car Insurance with UK Licence
If you can borrow a car and it's already insured/registered...you should have permission to drive it so long as you don't permanently live at the same address as the owner - I've been through this recently with my girlfriends insurance company as I'm driving her vehicle regularly, but we don't live together yet
Its their insurance that takes the hit if you cause an accident though
There's nothing in the rules to say you have to have a provincial license, just that you have to be "Licensed"
