Oh, I'm aware that the people I see every day who have unnaturally thin arms and no teeth are not diet crazy victims of British dentistry. However, BC has the stoner reputation.

We had a customer come in and use the loo at work, after knocking on the door after a half hour to make sure he was alright and then and hour and telling him we were calling an ambulance he came out looking rather disheveled and spaced out, we were just glad he went.

We need something half way between this and the soft Canada laws.
I suspect that the reason governments want to make drugs legal is more because they haven't got a clue how to, or the resources to, tackle it. Easier just to turn a blind eye.

This is quite a good article. Frightening stats but perhaps not surprising. I used to be in charge of the medical services for what was at that time the largest drug and alcohol detox and rehab centre in Europe which happened to be on our practice's doorstep so feel that I got the feel for the extent of the problem in the UK. I was shocked about the large proportion of drugs on the streets being sourced from physicians' prescription pads. There are a lot of very casual prescribing doctors I'm ashamed to say in Canada. Rightly BC is tightening up, other provinces need to take note.
