Default Anything else to do?

I know this is an immigration issue, but it might best suit anyone who's just landed or about to.
We currently find ourselves up against the clock, in that we had our medicals last November and due to one thing and another with our sons development we delayed sending the police searches and landing fee cheque. We finally did this last week, but as we only have a month left we are now wondering if there is anything else for us to send off?. Do we just wait for the OK go now letter?.
Any help please, I'm totally out of touch with the application process, which seemed so long ago.
Thank you anyone.

????????????I'm a little confused here. You only have 12 months from the date of your medicals, to land in Canada ! If you have sat on it for this long, then you are running the risk of losing the chance.
If you havn't even received your Passport requests yet, then the clock really is ticking.!!!

I know this all sounds a bit shocking to be so late, but the reason for the delay is a consequence of our sons development. In short we figured it may be best to be keep him here in the UK, but having spoke with specialists here, one of whom lived in Canada, they think it may well be a good move. The situation now is that we figured we may as well go and land before the visa runs out and therefore keep the opportunity open. We will be landing, spending a couple of weeks on a reccy and then returning to the UK.
I'm thinking if I could jump the gun and send our passports now, are these the last pieces of the jigsaw?.
Thanks for the reply

Normally I think they request your passports to be sent after your medicals and other paperwork has been completed. If you have not yet had a letter requesting you passports and are concerned then the only action you can take is to e-mail or fax them. Our letter for PP Requests said it might take up to 30 days to return them, although it may be quicker. We're still waiting for ours although Stuarty sent his at the same time as us and he's had his back.

The other posts are correct in that it is Canadian immigration who send you a passport request once they have had your medical results and approved you.
Apart from the passports you also have to send 2 extra photos of each applicant. We were told to expect a wait of approx 4 weeks.
If you had the medicals that long ago then i assume the only reason they haven't requested your passports is that they are still waiting for the landing fee and police checks.
I don't want to worry you but when we were requested to go for medicals we were also asked to send in police checks and landing fee and it stated that this must be done within 90 days otherwise they may assume you no longer wish to proceed.

I hate to say it, but you might find the your file has been closed. As I understand it CIC will generally give you 90 days to respond to mailings and if they don't hear from you they close the file as they figure that your no longer interested. I hope it is not the case, but you might have to fight to get your file reopened. You should have sent in your passports and then you could of waited till now or landed immediately and come back to the UK if you needed to tie up things here, as you would of then had up to 3 years before moving back to canada permanently.

Hope things work out OK.

Thanks for all the posts everyone. Can you tell me, as I'm going to post the passports off anyway, do I need to post anything else with the two photos and do I need to sign them, have them countersigned?.
Thanks again for opening this emergency surgery.

You can down load the form you get for passport request from here http://www.canada.org.uk/visa-info/general/phep.htm it tells you what you need to do. Have you checked your e-case to see if it says anything on their. But to be honest all the above are right in what they say. Good Luck

I wouldn't do that without checking whether your file has been closed mate. If it has, you'll probably never see your passports again. You're in a deep enough mess already. Check your file status on line first.

Unless I take the chance and send them, then there just won't be time. I'll give them everything and offer to pick them up on one of the thursday openings.

Not much point in that, London rarely update to "decision made" until after you've landed

OP, it's 60 days for passport requests iirc, are you under that still?

I really don't think you are going to get them to speed up just because you send your passports off. Actually, you will probably delay the whole thing because they will have to send them back (or even scarier, put them in one of their big piles of paper ).

As your medicals are approaching being 12 months out of date, I think there are two likely scenarios. CIC will either send a passport request and give you a couple of extra months to land, or (more likley I think) get you to redo the medicals.

Sorry to be negagtive, but I can't see them being pushed into anything.

Good luck
