I would be very "unhappy" with the thought of Mr G driving the section between the city and Okotoks every day. Its not bad in the summer but you need to carefully consider the spring and winter - that goes all the way to May and starts again in September.
The best thing to do is to visit and try the road for yourself. Try to imagine it under ice or snow with a pickup racing towards you.
Good luck with the decision.

Re: Anyone know Okotoks?
Ahh Okotoks, that is where I did all of my dating with my wife. Her immediate family live there and that is where we will be moving to. Her mother died last year in a car accident on the road between High River and Okotoks and the whole local community were really good.
My brother in law works at lucianos on Mcloud(?) trail and he commuted to work every day, he has to go early so there has never been a problem with traffic. He was raised in Grand Prairie so he has no problems driving on ice etc.
Although I hear it was particlarly bad this year.
Look forward to living in Okotoks soo much, I like calgary but i also like to leave it sometimes. High River is just too slow for me
