Anyone able to help over registering for HSBC Global view?
I know I am not eligible for Global view as I am an FD customer in the UK and an HSBC customer in Canada.
However, my husband is an HSBC Premier customer in Canada and has an HSBC UK account as well. A few months ago HSBC UK said he was not eligible for Global view as he was not an HSBC Premier customer in the UK. This was although the relationship manager in Canada said that you had only had to qualify for Premier in one location. The communication became such a hassle that he just gave up.
Now things have changed and he does qualify for Premier in the UK and in Canada. So I am just wondering if anyone can tell me precisely the steps to follow to register to access Global view without the request becoming a huge hassle again.
Thanks!

To become an HSBC Premier member it is only required to have a Fixed Deposit (FD) in any one of the HSBC accounts held globally.
This FD required amount does vary according to the country it is deposited.
Wherever you have the FD is where I would request the relationship manager to advise all other HSBC accounts to enable Global View.
For example...I initially created my HSBC Premier account in Vancouver although I previously had HSBC ordinary accounts (no FD) in Hong Kong and Channel Island (ex Brit). Those other accounts were then automatically upgraded to Premier status.
Subsequently I opened an HSBC Premier account in Kuala Lumpur (KL), to satisfy a visa requirement, and transferred the FD there.
Subsequent to that I opened an HSBC Premier account in Jakarta, where I currently winter, and transferred the FD there and cancelled the KL account.
Never had an issue with HSBC during these processes...but I do keep a personal relationship with the managers by email or visits to the branch....(Vancouver, Jakarta)

Leave it with the relationship manager to sort out, that is their job to sort. Don't take no for an answer.....my money is in UK, I received all the privileges here in Canada and UK.

Thank you both. This is very helpful.
We will ask HSBC Canada to assist (and insist they do this time).

However, as Bristol pointed out on another thread, you get a better net amount by using TransferWise.
I recently did a test and sent GBP1,000 by Global Transfer and GBP1,000 by TransferWise to HSBC Canada and the latter received C$30 more.....but it did take TransferWise 4 days, over a weekend, before the money was received.... whereas HSBC Global was instant.

Thank you. I think he just wants it for ease of reference mainly.
