Sounds like you perhaps need a magician, not a hairdresser.

I went to a really nice one the other day for the first time. The girls name is Kristy and she's at Mapleview Mall in Burlington at a place called Clip. She made me look really nice. My only problem is after I wash it I become frizzy if I don't dry it very quickly...but that's not her fault!!!

Serious question here, but do they cut hair differently in UK to Canada?

TBH .......... I don't think there is any difference between the way hair is cut here vs there.
However, there is a difference between hairdressers, and finding one who can handle YOUR hair! That is, cut it in the way you like, and in a way that you can maintain it yourself between haircuts.
Methinks, the OP has not found a hairdresser able to handle their hair.

I am a hairdresser here in ontario. I trained and worked in england for twenty years before coming to Canada.
No difference in cutting, just maybe in the wording? try pics when your explaining. Also the weather here plays a big part. Learn which products will help with humidity and heat, things we didnt have to worry about in the uk.
