Do you favour a cull, or feel it's a complete waste of time?

Snark nets work well

Shark attacks seem to be on the increase around Oz.

They do - I'm wondering when the sharknado is going to happen...

Now that their natural predator, the human, has been taken out of the loop.

Saw the channel 7 helicopter flying over yesterday and I said to my wife "I wonder if that's another shark attack then?" Sure enough...

My Mrs dives, she was at Rotto 2 weeks ago diving and going back next weekend. She's pretty much in the ocean at least once a week all year round. She's not worried about sharks and we are both against killing them. Her philosophy is "when it's your time, it's your time"!!

South Africa has used shark nets for decades and in areas where they are installed, shark attacks are virtually unheard of

Don't be ridiculous - Surely helicopters and an army of manual spotters are much more cost effective than static, proven shark nets...

There have been zero shark attacks on football pitches this year alone.

Seems to be the perfect application for a drone, equipped with a high-definition camera and / or other mechanisms to detect sharks in the water and relay their position back to shore. Got to be more cost effective than a helicopter, but maybe not a static net?

Going out killing them (sharks) really makes me angry. It's completely dumb and anyone who goes in the water knows what they may come up against.

I agree

A totally pointless exercise

People being killed by sharks is not cool but going into the ocean makes you part of the food chain............
