You know what they are going to say. They will attempt to legalise discrimination against gay marriage.

And they will whine.

Result by electoral area map

https://marriagesurvey.abs.gov.au/re...ponse-map.html

I'd say the driving force behind the no vote is actually new asian immigrants, judging by distribution.

I wouldn't be too sure about that, plenty of white people on my news feed are upset by the result, Adam and Steve, they're going to train our kids to use butt plugs in pre-school, all that kind of bullshit.

Just judging by the correlation of results - could be wrong.

Obviously there are always stupid people around, unfortunately.

I prefer the term narrow minded to stupid. Narrow minded at least indicates a bit of hope of broadening that mind with reasoning.

Which is why I prefer stupid f**kwit. I don't think it IS possible to broaden that mindset, except with a sledgehammer.

The evidence and arguments are out there, and have been for ages, and they don't change. At what point would you give up on them?

They have already started to agitate for the right to discriminate against gay marriage under the heading of 'right to conscience' - time will tell how much Trunbull gives in to the siren calls of Abbott and Abetz.

I wouldn't give up on anyone, we've all made questionable decisions in the past based on incorrect assumptions, prejudice, and many of us have stopped doing so through education and mind broadening. Why would you deny someone the opportunity to change their point of view?

Oh I don't. However track record is that for every 1 that finally takes notice of data and argument, there are another 99 who plug fingers in ears and chant the mantra.

Eventually you have to stop banging head against wall and accept that they are irredeemable.

Yep. Mostly Labor voting, working class, Islamic areas vote no.

All the blue ribbon Liberal seats voted yes.

Interesting times.

Here's an interesting thing. Hold your nose and go to Fox News - Breaking News Updates | Latest News Headlines | Photos & News Videos and try and find any reference to the gay marriage vote.

Given it's 8 hours since the result was announced, they are either spectacularly bad at reporting news, or are trying to hide it and avoid coverage.

Nice spin. But no one in America cares. Even CNN.

However they do care about the gay community in China.

Try putting a .au on the end and see what you get..
