Re: The world's most tolerant countries
Just apologise. Your posts about endless 'show me where his salary is fixed' and claims that the pound is higher against the euro since Brexit and a failure to understand that a fixed monthly amount of Euros has converted into more pounds every month since Brexit (c.f. before 23/6/16) shows up your ignorance on this one. You've diverted into irrelevant side issues that exchange rates go up and down, the reported salary increase was in left wing papers etc. To prove the thread title I've been exceedingly tolerant and it really is time to put this to bed.
Incidentally the pound has fallen a cent or so against the Euro in the last few days as May prevaricates so Nige can probably look forward to an even bigger salary (fixed in euros, converted into weaker pounds) this month.

Which bit of that don't you understand??? Obviously his salary doesn't move every day - it's fixed for the year in euros, as I said an amount fixed to apply from 1/7/16 to 30/6/17 - fixed, locked in, just like everyone else's annual salary.
What happens, because he works in one country but lives in another with a different currency is when he draws this annual amount/12 every month it is converted into pounds at the E/R prevailing at the time of the conversion. You fail in not having the smallest bit of nous to work that out.

But that's cool. We know the way you operate.

Since when did I 'change my story' - I can't help it if you don't have the nous to work out why British MEP's are drawing bigger salaries post Brexit which you denied time and time again.

What you on about Beoz?
OzT is correct. Fixed Euro salary drawn in UK = varies monthly based on current Fx rate. Up and down, variation.
General tenor of OzT argument is surely correct. Where how did OzT change his tune : (and is their a nitpick involved?) wrong use of terminology?
Cheers

I think he has to be playing deliberately dumb and will soon resort to comments about lefties, tactics, getting information from left wing papers or whatever. He certainly won't admit to being wrong or not understanding. Possibly he got his knickers in a twist confusing Farage's fixed euro monthly salary of 8,484.05 Euros from 1/7/16 with his variable (since 23.6/16, lower) pound monthly salary drawn on conversion?

542 - "Which E/R do you dispute because I looked them up when you made the ridiculous claim that the pound is stronger against the euro since Brexit. Over 1.30 before 1.18 today. It's like arguing Canberra isn't the capital of Australia; it's a fact.
MEP's salaries for the year are set at a point in time and when they were set the pound was much higher against the euro than it is now. Farage's salary doesn't move every day with E/R fluctuations!!!"
Point out the error of my ways please because you are digging yourself a bigger hole, specifically which of the above is wrong?

A teacher of Economics and Accounting doesn't know the meaning of fixed and variable costs? Farage's salary is 101,808 euros per annum for the year from 1/7/16. Agreed? (well you can't disagree).

Which one do you want it to be?

Re: The world's most tolerant countries
It does fluctuate at destination so in that respect it is not fixed, in practise. Income 'receipts' fluctuate.
OzT has attempted to clarify.
Fixed salary, variable income.

Re: The world's most tolerant countries
I once said one of the ironies of Brexit is that Farage is getting a higher salary. You have never let go of that since; let it rest. HIS SALARY DOES NOT FLUCTUATE WITH EXCHANGE RATE FLUCTUATIONS (IT IS FIXED IN EUROS FOR A YEAR), HE GAINS BY DRAWING IT IN POUNDS. No contradiction. Would I say your salary is variable because it goes up and down in Japanese Yen or Canadian dollars? Move on.
