What will happen to Julian Assange?

Re: What will happen to Julian Assange?
Ah well, we will have to disagree on a few things about Assange. And Trump. I class myself as a libertarian with liberal leanings, so I disagree with many of his domestic positions. But I do approve of his isolationism. For me, his foreign policy is the most attractive thing about him. He will not revel in the slaughter of foreigners in their homes in faraway countries. Very unlike Big Brother Hillary, in that regard. As I've said elsewhere, I believe Hillary will be the next US President, thanks to her corporate sponsors' long experience of cheating the voters, so it's her foreign policy that will prevail. I can only hope that your benign trust in it will be proven realistic.
I'll put my trust in democratically elected western leaders over any whistleblower with an agenda, dictators and other assorted assholes any day

Assange is a useful too for those who want to harm the west. There is precedence for this opinion. For example, we know now that the USSR used the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, trade unions, radical socialists etc in the UK in order to advance their agenda and to try and destabilise the country in order for them to eventually take control. Today, Russia is using Assange for the same reasons

Well, that's certainly a very "crusader" mentality, Zulu, and totally reflective of the mainstream media's line. Right down to dismissing every disbeliever in the MSM's propaganda as "assholes". We might get on better if you expunged that word from your posts. Arrogance of that kind is what allowed the citizens of Germany to give so much house-room to their democratically elected leaders in the 1930s - leaders who some of us disbelievers reckon are models for some of our own democratically elected leaders today. You and I have had a reasonably cordial conversation until now. Don't spoil it.

Still alive and well, more or less! Pilger is a wonderful interviewer and journalist - the absolute opposite of an MSM stooge, and obviously on the side of the angels in this matter. Indeed, I'm a bit surprised he hasn't been taken down before now. Soon come, perhaps. Maybe we should start a new thread called "What will happen to John Pilger?"...

Somebody is Sweden may be weakening. It mustn't be much fun being accused of allowing a bullying USA to force an extradition. All Sweden needs to do to get off the hook is to promise not to send Assange off to the US to be tortured. There was a time when Swedish Governments would have made that promise as a matter of course: alas, not any more.

The latest on Julian Assange. Here's one of the comments on this website:
Well they can't simply admit that CIA asked us to prosecute Assange! Anything bizarre is better than admission of being a puppet state.
But I can't think why the Swedish government should mind being regarded as a puppet state... It is what it is, surely.

Re: What will happen to Julian Assange?
After this release [at the link below], Assange will be lucky indeed to survive. Those of our posters who believe everything the MSM tells them will be pleased to see him captured, tortured and killed, while the rest of us will be extremely sad. Assange and his Wikileaks project are a very divisive subject, that's for sure. The truth will out eventually, as to whether he is a hero or a traitor - and also whether the mainstream organs (the BBC, CNN and their like) are Deep State agencies or models of objective reporting. I only hope Assange is alive and free to see the day.

Assange Responds To CIA Director That "Produced al-Qaeda, ISIS, Iraq, Iran & Pinochet" | Zero Hedge
The first comment to this article says it all: "The truth is treason in an empire of lies." Some of the other comments are mindless and unnecessarily obscene, but they can easily be skipped over. The article itself is a good act of defence and defiance.
Assange's future still looks in danger. Ecuador narrowly escaped having a CIA stooge as President the other day, but who knows what pressure will be put on the new man? And of course there is always the possibility of a US-sponsored and -organised "colour revolution" that will overthrow him. I'm a bit surprised the Russian government doesn't offer Assange a safe haven, like it did Snowden. They could get a real refugees' colony going, there - boost their tourism a bit! Why not?

Sadly, the Trump administration still is after Assange. And yet it still welcomes criminals like Henry Kissinger. Both factions of America's War Party are fiercely determined to get their victim on the water-board. (Shakes head in disappointment.)
