UK TV
Hi everyone
I’m trying to tap into the new series of I’m a Celebrity Get me out of Here on ITV. Not had any luck with torrents, Putlockers or ITV Hub through a VPN.
Anyone have any advice on how I can get this?
Thanks heaps
Big Barry 🤞🤞

Mobdro in Android or via a DNS redirect in Windows. Smart DNS Proxy works. I believe Getflix does too

Re: UK TV
I like Private Internet Access in general - the app allows quick and easy connects/disconnects without having to fart around deep in network settings... but it doesn't allow me to access the likes of iPlayer which still detects me as being somewhat outside of the UK.
Just thought I'd throw that in there.
PIA doesn't log any traffic, which is also a plus for privacy in general. Does ExpressVPN do logging? Just checked. No, they don't https://www.expressvpn.com/support/t...tions/#no-logs
I also hear good things about smartdnsproxy.com, I just haven't the money to spend right now. When I looked at smartdnsproxy a while ago they didn't have an easy to use VPN app. You had to go set things up manually (which I can do, but I'm lazy). I see they now have a VPN app to make things easy, but not one for Linux.

Re: UK TV
ExpressVPN looks quite expensive - $100/year? (US$)?
SmartDNSproxy (which gives just smart dns or smartdns + vpn) is much more reasonable at US$39.9/year or US$49.90 for 2y.

It might look expensive ($ 8.33/month) but over the last 3 years I only once had a problem with BBC I player and they solved it within 2 minutes.

Re: UK TV
SmartDNS is the way to go for sure - we pay for Unlocator and all the UK channels work with no issues whatsoever. VPNs are fine, but they divert the entirety of your Internet traffic through them thus making web browsing and everything else that little bit slower. There is no such slow down with a smart DNS service, it simply uses your Internet connection to its fullest speed so while you may get buffering, drop outs and sound issues using a VPN, you're highly unlikely to get them with a smart DNS service. Also if you pipe all of your Internet through a VPN then all the sites you visit will think you're in the UK which might be preferable from a security perspective but can be annoying when you wan the weather and it locates you in Southampton and not Sydney.

Re: UK TV
I just tried SmartDNS and ... I've live streaming Match Of The Day, watched yesterday's Football Focus, and I'm sure I'll have no problem with other content either
I had failure first, but I'm sure this was due to two things. 1. Didn't reboot my router after making the DNS changes. Didn't think I'd need to, but it seemed to help. 2. I have to switch off my existing VPN (PIA). When I have PIA on I have found that I cannot access the bbc website at all. No news, nothing. It just seems to recognise the PIA IP range I guess, and blocks it completely. Thankfully SmartDNSProxy have a VPN feature too, so I shall check that out.
Happy to have BBC iPlayer back in my life at least

Re: UK TV
After having some success with SmartDNS, it is now failing again. I have found their support to be a bit lacking too.
I emailed asking a simple pricing question. I got contradictory answers from two different respondents, because they didn't read my questions properly. I complained to them that it took multiple emailed to get a simple answer. They replied "but our records show we did indeed reply to your email". Proves my point. Yes they replied, but they did not read my email properly, giving unclear answers.
Also I'm trying to watch The Apprentice final on BBC iPlayer right now, and it is not working again. BBC knows I'm not in the UK and is blocking me. I emailed SmartDNS. To their credit, their replies are always pretty prompt, but this is what I got:
The access to BBC as of the moment is inconsistent. We received mixed reports regarding it. To some of our users, it will work after a few retries/attempts and to others, it’s still not working completely. Please be advised that the BBC is aggressively blocking our servers as we create them. Because of that, we have to create a more sophisticated geolocation bypass system. As a result, you have to retry a few times. However, I still cannot guarantee for sure that it will work on your end.
Rest assured, our Network Team is currently looking into it so that the access to BBC will be back up and running smoothly again without any issues or error messages. Again, our sincere apologies for the inconvenience.
