Have been refused credit cards in Oz being told that since all my income is UK based( Pensions), I am not allowed a CC. Anyone know of this, or ways round it?

Re: Credit Cards
Do you have a Medicare, Aus Drivers license, Rental income history, own or buying property or Australian tax file number?
Because if you have any of those missing that's as much of an issue as anything else.
The best way around it is to start of with a Debit Card, with Visa or Mastercard access and build yourself some history with the card.
A short quick personal loan say 12months from a building society or credit union could also help.
If you own your own place as a pensioner, then is should be easy to get short term loan, just to build a credit history. There's some boxes that need ticking that's all.
Anotherway, is try buying something from Harvey Norman on one of their 60 month interest free plans, then start paying it off early, they'll shift heaven and earth to get a sale. Et Voila, instant credit history.

UK credit card and internet banking. My missus has been here 20 years and still uses a Nat West CC.

Does this attract bank charges?
