Well, three points:
- Trump isn't going to stop globalisation. Trump has exported jobs to china in the past.
- Trump isn't going to the 'leader' of the free world - he's going to be quarantined at best, and played at worst.
- Trump is PART of the 1% - the only two fingers will be a victory sign.

.......... And millions of Australians voted for this idiot. The world has gone mad.
Labor leader Bill Shorten compared Mr Trump to extremists in Europe and from across the political spectrum, at one point calling him "barking mad". And in much-reported remarks, he told an economic conference Mr Trump was "entirely unsuitable" to be US President.
"By his own words and his own actions, he has confirmed the worst fears of millions in the United States and beyond its borders – that he is entirely unsuitable to be leader of the free world," the alternative PM said last month.
"Thankfully, with every passing day, with every ridiculous and disgusting remark that is uncovered, the possibility of a Trump administration fades."

I do wonder in the next few days, if they will cry for another vote as it did not match the outcome they wanted. Note: Brexit: Scotland(you had your choice to leave and decided not too and now throwing your toys out the pram and I am Scottish) and London. Democracy at its best!!!

I think it's too easy to call democracy dead or alive. People elected Trump and people voted to exit the EU. The real issue I have with democracy is just how few options there are and how easy it is to rip out positive things that were built by the other side as soon as they pack up their shit and leave. Obamacare is most likely destroyed. There is far too much money wasted on destroying good policy simply because you're on the other side of the fence and now you call the shots.
But, how can democracy do anything about that when you really have two options but hundreds of issues and policies to consider? It's a massive trade off and total lack of value for your money. It's the same in every democracy though when it comes to electing a party/president. More referendums is the way forward. Brexit was a referendum, sure. But it was too vague and triggered by a complete muppet of a prime minister.

I've got dry powder waiting to pick up some bargains after the broader market crashes, which it will. December rate rise 100% certainty from the "apolitical" Fed.

Exactly, I made a lot of money on my gold mining shares on Brexit and once the US markets open tonight it ought to be a repetition - Kerching!

He'll have to modify the design to put in a door so the likes of Selma Hayek can get through to be abused as a mere object a billionaire thinks he's entitled to.

A door for Selma would be sweet - a sweet door for some sweet ass

I think this election as well as the Brexit vote both have grounds for a do-over. As polls were suggesting it was safe to vote in a particular direction, it would have had a large impact on decision making on voting day. People voting to leave the EU not expecting their vote to count and so instead voted with their heart and not their head. Same goes for this election. And, as governments regularly use polls to kick leaders out of the high seat, they can't really say that they shouldn't be used as a gauge to make your decision with.
A do-over on both would reverse both decisions, I think. But that's just my opinion.
