The Sun dumps Labour

Re: The Sun dumps Labour
Unpopular she may have been, however she was a politician of conviction and not the popularity polls. How many politicians can say that nowadays.

Thatcher saved the country, no question. Having the balls to take on Scargill (what happened to him, by the way?) and winning......
If she could have fought off her own MPs (whose careers she rescued) on the EU question, we could have got out of that corrupt institution too.
The Tories will win, but in the long term UKIP are our only hope.

Some of us are old enough to remember the 1970s............ the worst decade in my lifetime, without question.

Thatcher used the oldest trick in the book to gain in the popularity stakes, namely jingoism...from which point she certainly did ram home her convictions to the point that few, even from within own party, would dare stand up to her.

If Thatcher was so unpopular then why was she and her party with her in charge voted in 3 times? Miners and Northern industrial workers aside, Britain prospered from a wreck to the second biggest economy in Europe under her guard. If only Cameron can perform half as well as she.....
P.S. Is Murdoch contolling election results a good thing??

I don't believe Murdoch's influence is good for one minute, but it's there and pretty much proven that whoever the Sun backs wins.

I believe she tried to inject a sense of worth into the contry and be proud of working not claiming benefits. How many people now own their own home and hence the area has improved due to a sence of pride in your peoperty, How many people made thousands when share were floated and last but not least we still have the Falklands if labour was in charge how many EU directives would we have had to get to even leave port.
