So Chris Evert and that golfing bloke
Are they big celebs in Oz or something cause I can't believe they've been headline news all morning in front of the recent interest rise and the knock on with that on families and the recent quakes in Samoa and Indonesia!

Typical Australian morning show:
"6 million people killed in a earthquakes, typhoons, volcanic eruptions; but first the latest celebrity gossip followed by sport."

Greg Norman IS Australian and you know Australians love themselves and their Sports people so of course they're celebrities (here)!

Re: So Chris Evert and that golfing bloke
It’s more like:
Breaking News.... some Aussie celebrity that no one knows of is having a baby..
Then it’s followed by news of another Aussie celebrity getting married
Then followed by some Aussie sport
Then followed by local news for local people
Then weather
And then only then will you hear... “Oh and in other news there was a quake somewhere to the right of Australia” - remember International News must still contain that important word “Australia” or “Australian” – I swear you only hear about overseas things when an Aussie is involved in some way. If there is a big International Story that they just have to report but is not involving an Aussie they will try to link one in there somewhere.

No, it’s not like that at all.

The most balanced TV news I've been able to find is SBS world news. Best of a bad lot I think. That said, speaking as a former press officer, the news in the UK, with the exception of Channel 4 news, was mostly crap too.

It's because they like the opportunity to drag out his bitter and twisted ex wife and ask her about the relationship I believe the UK media are fairly obsessed with Katie Price and Peter Andre, not sure it's an Aus problem

I think his former wife deserved every penny after all she had to put up with him for 25 plus years.
As for the news no different to the UK news, read the Mail celebrity obsessed rag but with celebs Aussies do not know.
So who cares no-one but they have to fill the page and disasters do not happen that often.

And, he earned all the money. She was his "manager". Hmmm.
Poor thing having to 'put up' with someone bringing in 10's of millions every year. How did she cope?
I'm not a fan of either by the way. I think they've got what they deserved.
