Now let me think. If my brother or father were prepared to let me do 20 years for their crime I'd be pretty unimpressed. Despite being family I'd definately point the finger if that was their attitude.

Exactly.
I have a brother (who has no brain) who in the past has been quite happy to life a livestyle which came very close to implicating both my Dad and myself in his shady drug dealing. He had no conscience and didn't/doesn't care. All he was worried about was hiding his stash and trying to find out how much the police knew about his activities.He soon discovered that unlike him, the rest of us possessed brains and consciences!

I'm curious as to whether the legal process in say the UK or Australia would have yeilded such a quick conviction as it did in Indonesia. From what I hear there is enough 'reasonable doubt' with the whole story.

From what I see the Indonesian legal system doesn't seem to have such a notion as 'beyond reasonable doubt'.
