Yes you should. Sounds like a loose wire in the plug. You need to shut your computer down, flick the switch off at the socket, pull the plug out and check it for loose wires. You'll need a screwdriver to open the plug up and tighten any loose wires. If you're not sure get someone to look at it for you.

Lorna, it might even be something much simpler like the plug is not firmly pushed into the wall socket. If it's not that and you're not sure how to fix it just make sure that you turn the plug off at the wall when you go to bed or go out until you can get it checked out.
