Default Queen calls "emergency meeting"

Queen calls a "all hands to Buck Palace" in the middle of the night.

Emergency meeting at Buckingham Palace of Queen Elizabeth II’s entire staff

News isn't saying anything, but the implications are there ...

I fear that Philip has died....

I pray that the Queen hasn't died....she seems like a Duracell bunny, going on and on and on...it would be such a huge shock if she goes before Philip does

That's the rumour coming out of french media, although there is zero info at the moment. He was opening a new stand at Lords cricket ground yesterday mind.

The press, particularly the UK press, is suspiciously silent....

.
Queen Elizabeth II’s entire staff from across the United Kingdom has been summoned to an emergency meeting at Buckingham Palace today, according to reports.

Servants will be addressed by the Royal Household’s most senior office Lord Chamberlain and Her Majesty’s Private Secretary Sir Christopher Geidt in just hours.

The meeting, called suddenly at 3am local time GMT and described as highly unusual by royal watchers, has sent Britain’s rumour mill into a concerned frenzy.

There is speculation that the announcement is to do with either the Queen or her husband the Duke of Edinburgh’s health.

This will be the first time since 2001 that another board has got news before my London Board, if true. I've just asked on there. They are usually in front of the news as well.

There's talk of a D Notice, and certainly the only UK media I've seen on this has been the trashy tabloids. Nothing on the Beeb, or the Guardian, or the ABC for that matter.

Which in it's own right is a signal, you would expect a holding story at the minimum.

Oh gosh. I do hope everything is alright. While I'm many miles away from England, England has never been far away from me.

Tweets about flags at half mast at Buckingham Palace. If it is Prince Philip, I'm going to miss his banter...

And it was always protocol that the standard was never at half mast. Not sure if that still holds.

My thought is that there has been a significant death.

All members of the Royal household are directly effected as they all go into formal mourning.

Announcement likely on or after 8am as the UK starts its day , most likely via the BBC followed by all media.

TBH pretty poor show if a royal correspondent has got wind & leaked the news of this meeting earlier than it should have been.

Close friend of mine worked in a big photo library helping to prepare and update obituaries for public figures so they were always ready for release. His work went to the BBC and the major (credible) UK media as well as then being syndicated worldwide. He said for a major Royal or similar figure there would definitely be a D notice while info was checked, photos updated etc plus the government leaders would be informed, and the. all the major media would go with the story together.
Early morning would be his prediction herei reckon, breakfast news.
