Well my understanding of it is rather different. It apparently took Greenland three years to exit, the only situation of some similarity.
Besides a referendum does not have to be recognised and as such can only be a gage of the public mood under the UK system.

The Treaty of Lisbon which brought in Article 50 came into force in 2009 so I'm not sure anything Greenland did is relevant to the UK situation.

So Theresa May or Angela Leadsom will be British PM in 62 days time and at some point after that Article 50 will be activated.
