Sport is an issue but I'd rather go without than give a cent to that wank-stain of a company, Foxtel

Anyway, Super rugby is shit now, I can get cricket and international rugby online and local cricket is on 9

Not sure what you are watching but the Tahs and the Hurricanes was an excellent game on Friday and last nights Reds Brumbies game wasn't bad either despite the score.

I suppose you wouldn't know without Foxtel.

The Rugby here in Australia would do a lot better at grass roots if it had the finances to give the FU to Foxtel.

I'm bored with Super Rugby - personal opinion

Something I should add about Kodi - the massive repository of add-ons that are available.

You definitely should NOT add 'Exodus' as this will NOT give you access to an incredible amount of TV & film content. By adding this you CANNOT access all the sport, TV, film & music you wanted to, because this addon is NOT exactly above board and as an upstanding honest citizen I DO NOT condone the use of this addon AT ALL.

I DO however have the FilmOn.TV addon in Kodi, and with my VPN connection to the UK it makes it a breeze to watch my live TV and recorded programmes using nothing more than the regular TV remote in my hand. (This is a great feature - as long as your TV supports 'Pulse Eight CEC adaptor'.)

If Kodi is something you're interested in - and as has been pointed out, there is a huge difference between what Kodi & Netflix actually 'do' - I would thoroughly recommend looking at Plex.

Plex started life as a fork (variation) of Kodi, but is very much it's own thing now. It doesn't have quite the wealth of customization & add-ons as Kodi, but brings with it more simplicity compared to Kodi - but also brings the ability to sync content to additional devices for offline viewing, as well as remote access, multiple user accounts (I have separate accounts for my children, so they only see what I've 'signed off'), and more.

Some of these extras require the paid-for version of plex, but it's a fairly modest fee.

I switched from many years using XMBC/Kodi, but been using Plex for a couple of years, and never looked back.

Yeah shocking the amount of stuff available on there Another couple of question if you'll indulge me:
Regarding VPN's Are they legal? Will masking my I.P address stop all the websites that currently spam me with emails whenever I look at something? i.e I google a Kodi box and ebay email me asking if I want to buy one then ads appear on FB advertising them.

I use unblock-us, pay about $5 a month, works well although it did cause a hiccup the other week when it appeared to be the cause of me not being able to access Amazon and a couple of other sites. I just disable it until we need it. I don't get any unwanted emails from unwanted websites other than the usual viagra nonsense that goes straight into the spam folder anyway.

I need to look into this Exodus and Kodi, not heard of them before. I want to get shot of Foxtel but the small amount of tv the husband watches is all Foxtel stuff and he's become more and more technophobe as he's got older and doesn't have the patience to either let us do it or to do it himself. If knowing where the Hitler channel is keeps him happy then......

That won't stop adverts recognising you and sending emails. For that you need to block adverts, cookies, etc.

Exodus is for illegal content, and thus if you are OK with that you need to use a cast iron VPN, otherwise Brandis will be on your back.

Kodi is just a media player.

That's why I don't get them then.

100% legal. All the VPN does is securely make your device look like it is somewhere else. What you subsequently do with that connection however..

Nah.

The only reason I can see for Foxtel is if you are a sports addict.

If you want UK TV then a VPN is of more use.

If you want movies then one of disk kiosk machines in the shopping centre foyer are a better bet.

If you want general TV then I'd say Netflix, etc. is better ($9 shared... )

Of course, if you want real crime stories ....

Don't have the sports channels, I get them if there's something particular I want to see that doesn't appear on 7/9/10 otherwise I get bitched at for wasting money/time watching sport. We don't have the movie channels, get our movies other ways. Netflix we have and we use and so have the vpn as Australia Netflix is shite. The husband only watches the three previously mentioned. Because we have Foxtel I watch UK Masterchef/bakeoff/sewing thing. If we didn't, I wouldn't be too concerned. Such is life, good job I love him.

We still have one in the next suburb over. Don't think it'll be for long, never anyone in there when I've driven past. What is weird is a Starbucks has just opened up not far away. I thought they were closing due to lack of people wanting to drink totally shite coffee. Oops off topic.

VPNs are very legal. Long before punters were using VPNs to get around geo-restrictions, businesses were (and still are) using them to protect their international data networks. There are many reasons to use a VPN other than for watching the BBC in Australia
