Allow the websites, and the visitors, to highlight those who are looking for extremist literature.

One of the hardest issues is narrowing down from 64 million to less than a thousand (so you can give sufficient attention). People searching for extremist websites is a good first step.

MI5 reporting today that they are monitoring 20,000 UK citizens and there is an internal inquiry going on as to why Salman Abedi who was on their active list of 3,000 went under the radar. The FBI alerted MI5 in January about him.

Bait and trap tactics can be used too but all this is really doesn't do anything to the halt the reason why these sites exist in the first place.

Again back to Islam messaging and its leadership. We seem to want to excuse Islam - why?

Probably because 3000 is a bit too high to take an active interest in all of them. As I surmised before, when he went off out of the country before he probably dropped off their active list and then coming back into the country didn't give them enough time to do anything before it was too late.

It sounds easy to say "he was on a list", but the false alarm rates and the manpower needed to actively do something is a limiting factor.

"Obviously it's a horrific crime that's was perpetrated in <London Bridge> <yesterday evening>. At this time our thoughts are with the <6> families that have had the most loved and cherished people from their lives as well as the <20ish> who are still receiving medical treatment and care. I’m sure members of the police and security services will be working very closely with the <religion name here - TBC, no prizes are on offer> community to fully investigate relevant matters and bring some very small number of individuals to account through the judicial system.

We would ask people to remain calm at this difficult time and remind people that respect for and tolerance for the causes of violence is of the utmost importance to our society. We hypothesis that this will ultimately somehow lead to less violence despite recent evidence to the contrary."

Let's be upfront and just say it as it is: it's only one particular "culture/religion" that seems to be making the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

The catholics ?

Oh sorry, I was talking about the 70s & 80s. How short memories are ....

It's religions and ideologies that cause the problem. Whenever someone thinks that their way is the only way, and they are prepared to hurt people and destroy as a consequence, we get trouble. Ever notice they don't build and make better to justify their blinkered mindsets?

The specifics change with the decade, the thought process stays the same.

Although I guess it does depend on the point of view (what country you are in) so he could be talking about the US

Lets cut to the point.

Islam is todays problem. Not yesterdays. No religion today behaves like the bad eggs of Islam do, in the name of their religion.

Another at London Bridge. My wife and son crossed London Bridge yesterday back to the station after lunch on the north side. I had a beer with some old colleagues at the Wheatsheaf Pub on Thursday.

And what's Islam doing to stop this stuff?

Again, I'm watching mobile.phone videos of unarmed bobbies running around, screaming and shouting but ultimately unable to do f**k all to protect the public because they don't got a Glock

Yes, carry on as usual

Same response as I gave you last time you posted this:

So, what would you suggest? "A murderer has used their screwed up version of a particular faith to commit an atrocity. Consequently, you need to hate and vilify everyone of that faith, frighten them, ostracize them, reject them, isolate and exclude them - because this will lead to less violence" ?

Everyone's upset.

Unfortunately its not a single person or a single event so that reasoning falls apart pretty quickly. If it were a one off, all fair points, unfortunately its not.

At the height of the IRA bombing campaign we didn't send all the Irish home to Ireland. It was talked about but there would have been nobody left to dig the holes. I guess in this instance there would be a lack of shopkeepers and taxi drivers.....
