Hindsight is a wonderful thing. You have to see the Korean war in the context of where the world was at in 1950. Most of the planet was genuinely worried about communist expansion - and with good reason. The USSR was bringing down the iron curtain in Europe and was in the process of acquiring nuclear weapons, the Berlin airlift had just happened and the largest country in the world, China had just become communist. Stalin was a seriously dangerous mofo. The west (aka the UN when it had real balls and was prepared to put its money where its mouth is) felt that a communist takeover of the Korean peninsula was not a very good idea and did what they had to do to prevent it - and it sent a message to the commies that world domination was not on the agenda. Yes, China is opening up to the world but only because they no they couldn't achieve success under communism

Nothing in your link that states the reality that NK invaded SK in 1950 after the NK leadership pressurising Stalin to allow it - and nothing about the context of global geopolitics and aggressive communist expansion in 1950

I couldn't find a source for the ownership of this website but given its apologist nature, I suspect that it's Russian. Seeing that RT is a mouthpiece for Putin in the west, this website is probably the same. There is however a link at the bottom of the page to this garbage:

However, even a container sized H-bomb can be placed, in a cargo container.

And as I say, I think they overperformed. A M6.3 quake is a BIG yield - plenty enough to spoil your day in the city of your choosing.

I'm not sure how you could square a 6.3 quake with 100kt. Take a look at the seismic



Given the dissipation etc. you have to be well into the several hundred kilotonnes at the least, and to get down from the 1Mt you really need for the USGS to cut the earthquake size, which they haven't.

I have a sneaky suspicion that S Korea is playing down the size for domestic consumption - a 1Mt nuke would take out Seoul, 1.6m vs 300k casualties.
