Default Google Earth

Seems to have had quite an upgrade... There's much more high definition available now and the population figures seem to have been updated... 20% growth in some of the coastal towns in Queensland in 1 year...!

I'm currently working in the office doing the updates on GIS info for Queensland maps - two people, working fulltime, to update roads, lots, and houses - as they are numbered- just for growth in Queensland. That gives you an idea how fast its growing.

Anyone brought the $20 'plus' version yet?

Just wondering how good the coverage is? and what the images are like?

I downloaded the new version a couple of days back, the new higher-res coverage is excellent. Was able to stitch together four of five screens to make a free map of our farm that cost me over $100 two years back. Even managed to overlay the old map onto the new in photoshop to see how our feral tree clearing and reveg is progressing.

If you click on the red dot of some of the larger towns it will tell you their population figures. I'm fairly sure that until this latest upgrade it stated that Cairns had a population of ~ 123k but afterwards it is showing ~152k
