I am normally a bit blasé about things like this but I have to admit that this got to me. J and I both shed a tear for this lad tonight
My son is also in year 6 and just a bit younger than this boy. I am around kids like him all the time, and I love it. I love their energy, vitality, aspirations, humour, cheek, attitude - I'm sure you get the picture. To hear about things like this cuts to the core. These are just normal people living like most of the people on here - people you interact with every day. That's why it hurts
His mom sounds like she is English BTW
RIP Luke you little belter. You deserved better than this but the world can be a f**ked up place at times. Valhalla has a place for you

Yes, this is a terrible tragedy. I heard on the news that the boys mother was from England and I believe even a psychologist had suggested she and her son should return there.
But she didn't go. Despite many difficult years she believed her son deserved the relationship with his Australian father that he wanted.
I'm pretty sure she was interviewed in shock. My heart goes out to her.
RIP Luke. x

The father needs to be put up in public and hung, simple.
Corporal punishment is the only answer for low-life like him.

Very sad story but yet another case of mental illness causing fatality.

Well nige, I know that mental illness is a very real problem in society today and I was listening to a programme about it on Radio 4 the other week, and the amount of people who have a mental illness is on a sharp rise.
Whilst I feel for these people who are genuinely ill and I hope they get the help they need there is also those who use mental illness as a scape-goat.
It's like a pass to act in a way that wouldn't normally be acceptable in a civilised society. And because mental illness can't always be proved, anyone can call the doctors bluff.
There are people out there with mental illnesses and there are people out there who are just plain evil!:
And these evil people need hanging, simple. The world needs to know under no circumstances will we tolerate evilness of any kind and until we start showing that message then evil, sick and sadistic crimes will only increase.
Anyway, that's my take on it.

Hanging people in public view to send a message? Jeez.
