Eurovision 2016

Re: Eurovision 2016
Ahh, the annual exercise in grudge settling, sucking up, and all round political voting - with a little low quality muzak as a sideline.
You do have to wonder if people might ask questions this time round, after the jury and online votes varied so markedly....
PS people do know that voting is fixed to make it look like someone other than the eventual winner is top until the last possible moment, don't they? The ordering is optimised.

Love Eurovision. I'll never forget Milli Vanilli running away with it when they sang River Dance.

Re: Eurovision 2016
Love Eurovision for probably the reasons others may detest it. I expect the voting was rigged, with Poland coming from near last to their final I think forth position.
Disliked Ukraine entry intensely, but expect the other East European nations voted en mass in order to keep Russia out of the top position.
As Armenia's entry last year I think was banned for its political content probably Ukraine's entry should have been judged on such lines as to suitability.

Re: Eurovision 2016
I could be wrong but find it very hard to see how the continued participation of Australia can possibly take place. At best a guest slot for a nation outside the Euro sphere every year.
Still Israel justifies a presence. Azerbaijan a little iffy as well. But Australia doesn't come close in any terms, besides having a majority Caucasian population, whose roots derive from Europe in the distant past.
Time for an Asiavision perhaps to where Australia would fit at least in most geographic terms, providing the Asians would have us, or judged not quite Asian enough.
