"Children overboard" anyone? Making up stories about brown people drowning their own kids to get into Australia to help your election chances. That wasn't malicious at all.

Do you know it wasn't true? Where's your proof? If it is true and there's a good chance it was, and the scum allowed the boats continue ...... well ..... say no more really.

There was an inquiry, the claims were found to be false.

And then there was the famous, non-malicious, non grubby Lindsay pamphlet scandal.

Going back a bit I know, but I suspect you'll still be going on about Mediscare in 15 years time!

Long time ago as you say but I believe the video showed what looked to be baby throwing amongst other self harm threats. Within the context of the video at the time it looked very much like it was true.

In the end it was decided it wasn't.

Hardly malicious given the facts available in the video.

Where were the facts around Mediscare? Oh that's right, a bit of IT outsourcing had been suggested.

This was from before my time in Australia so I just did a bit of reading about it. The jury is out about what actually happened but there is no doubt that Howard milked it for his own agenda. Saying that, his government's immigration policy was just about right in this area and was being effective. That socialist asshat, Kevin Rudd (change for change's sake) basically tore up this policy and opened the floodgates to 3rd world boat arrivals into Australia (and the 1000+ drownings at sea) and basically casing the current fiasco on Manus

If you voted for Rudd, Manus is on your hands

This is completely true - and let's also not forget they will also end up being based in SA, so it takes days to get them on station where they are needed. The same with our sea patrol aircraft. It's brilliant that they have to fly across the continent to spend a couple of hours on station before having to fly all the way back again.

S

Agree. P3s and P8s should be based at Exmouth, Port Hedland and Darwin. Edinbugh is just too far away and there is little threat in the Southern Ocean

It must be said, its a shame you would rather a country run by a team of dirty tactics. Those colluding with a foreign political party, union scandals, mediscare. Shame on you.

Silly Billy ....... should have kept his mouth shut. ..... is this a turning of the tide?
