Default DIY Help needed urgently (before I kill hubby!)

I swear if he loses his temper and shouts one more time I will ram the bloody spirit level where there is nothing to level!!!!

Anyone have ANY idea how to......adhere gyprock board to the bathroom wall that is about as straight as a queen????

At present I have had to push my body weight against it (and that is quite a lot of weight) while he waits for the no nails to glue!!!! Then when I move it goes off at one end or the other or in the middle. The walls are that bumpy and aside from chipping off all the adhesive from the tiles (which would be a mamoth task in itself, I can't seem to think of anything.

Hubby will not live much longer if you don't offer me help

Stupid question but I have to ask
Its water board your using not gyprock ????

If its pine frame -plane the bumpy bits off
If its hardwood -cut strips off the board (hopefully you have excess)
and pack out the hollows to level it ,so the sheet sits neatly.
Don,t try bending the sheet if there is contraction / expansion the
nails will pull through or the sheet will break.

You need to use drywall screws, not "no more nails". Countersink the screws slightly then do a skim coat of drywall compound and sand smooth when dry.

I think it is gyprock. It is a flat hard sheet like plasterboard.....he was told to adhere to the walss and then we could tile onto this....

I have attached a copy of the bathroom so you can see the walls....

The wording does make it sound like that. That's the sort of thing I would do

Directly onto the wall - which as you can see needs something so we can tile......grrrr getting very chuffed off right now

I am no expert, nor very handy, at all !

But I would consider getting it wet plastered, or whatever the wording is.

Not what I thought at all !!!!!

I would use cement sheet if your after a smooth surface to tile onto

they come in 600 - 900- 1.2 m widths are very easy to cut , and you would only have to butt join since your tiling.

you would have to get the specialised cutter but there under $20

also run the sheets vertical not horizontal if the surface is to variable

As a non expert, "blue tack" in each corner to hold it in place, plus I would cover the wall with loads of gooee stuff, put the sheets against it, and hope it stays

Do not take what I say on this as serious, even though it is probably what I would do !!!
